Hiring for: Carpenter Group Leader, Grading Group Leader, Concrete Group Leader

Location: Primarily White Haven, PA or Nescopeck, PA

Travel: Open to regional travel

We are seeking an experienced Group Leaders to join our White Haven, PA and Nescopeck PA project. Must be a team player, motivated to work hard, and develop in our Heavy Civil team. The ideal candidate will have experience on heavy high way and/or bridge projects. Excellent leadership abilities and communication skills are important, as are the ability to be hands on daily with the crew carrying out the work.

This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.

This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Wagman is a multi-faceted construction firm with major operations in heavy civil, general construction and geotechnical construction services. Wagman is a fourth generation, family-owned company with offices in Pennsylvania and Virginia and is headquartered in York, PA. Core competencies include: design-build, infrastructure, marine construction, modified concrete, grooving and grinding, and geotechnical construction services.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in finishing concrete on Heavy Highway and bridge jobs.
  • Familiar with structures, bridge construction, concrete and all other highway construction scopes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises and directs labor crew carrying out various tasks including concrete and form work; preparing materials, equipment and tools for optimal output.
  • May assist in developing a weekly schedule and in carrying out sequence of activities for the bridge building and finishing operations.
  • Maintains all records required concerning production, safety, attendance, time worked by crew members, personnel matters, etc.
  • Responsible for timely completion of work assignments while maintaining the company’s reputation for quality workmanship/product.
  • Responsible for the safety of those on the crew and will conduct all operations according to all applicable company and government safety rules. Will develop and maintain a proper crew attitude by conducting weekly Planning Meetings and displaying a positive safety attitude toward all daily operation performed.

Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel occasionally throughout a scheduled work shift.
  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
  • Acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing required.
